Okay, we've seen NBA games played outdoors in the desert, and there's plans for a college game to be played on an aircraft carrier, but now indoor football goes back to its normal environment...
Outdoors... but only using half the field...
The Spokane Shock announced on that they're playing an outdoor game at something called Joe Albi Stadium.
They will take on the Utah Blaze on July 9th in a game the team is calling the Joe Albi Summer Classic.
“We are proud to bring such a unique event to the greatest fans in the AFL, right here in Spokane,” Majority Owner/CEO Brady Nelson said. “This is an idea that we have been toying with for a few years now and we are happy to bring it to our fans. The Joe Albi Summer Classic’ is going to be a memorable event that no one will want to miss.”
Here's KREM's take from their noon show...

Arena Coach Center Of Hard Core Porn Storm
((HT: WTSP-TV Tampa))
Tampa Bay Storm head football coach Tim Marcum is a legend in the indoor football circles. But now his laptop may be legend for what it allegedly contains...
It's all part of a lawsuit between the owner of the Storm and Marcum- who claims the former owner is delinquent in paying him. During the deposition phase, it was disclosed that Marcum, apparently, had some beyond-racy videos and racist jokes on his hard drive...
Stuff that disparaged the First Family, involved the "n" word, and showed two women using a fish and a funnel for a sex act.
The HQ can't make this stuff up...and we also know there's a joke in there somewhere.
Here's Mike Deeson...
Marcum apparently forwarded the e-mails along and guys like Steve DeBerg, Jevon Kearse, and Tony Siragusa are part of the e-mail chain...
Oops...
Marcum maintains that only people with access to his office computer would have known about the contents in the first place- and, thus, divulged what was there. And what may be there does not describe the man he claims to be...
Double oops...
Like we said... can't make this stuff up...

New...but different Arena League
We are really tempted to use the quote "Rumors of the death of the Arena League have been greatly exaggerated" here, but it wouldn't really fit. However, there is a "New" version of the Arena league that has surfaced. It's called "Arena Football 1 or AF1". Supposedly, it is going to consist mainly of AF2 (real minor league Arena Ball) and a few teams from the old Arena League. And it will be based in that noted sports capital of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The story from the Tulsa World HERE.
More from KTUL-TV HERE
According to the Commish, Jerry Kurz, there has been a ton of interest. He already cites commitments from teams currently in the AF2: Tulsa, Oklahoma City, Shreveport, Spokane, Iowa, Tennessee Valley, Kentucky and Arkansas and Tri-Cities. In addition, some original Arena League teams from Orlando, Fresno, Chicago, Utah and Arizona along with newcomers in Milwaukee and Jacksonville. All interesting, the question is, how do they avoid the problems that sunk the original league; escalating salary costs and travel costs? We wish them luck...they are going to need it.
