NFL Players names and images attached to "Porn-Party"

And they are quickly distancing themselves from it. All 9 players, who's names and photos--in their respective team jersey's, that appeared on a flyer promoting a party May 20th at Club Play in Miami, are trying to get as far away from it as they can.

The club was connected to the "Exxxotica Expo 2011" a convention, of sorts for people in the "Adult-entertainment" industry was held in the Miami area May 20-22.

The players were all notified in the past couple of days that they were attached to the party and the NFL is investigating, in part due to the photos of players in "Team Jerseys" something the NFL told the Miami Herald "Is a routine intellectual property issue".

Most of the players involved have issued statements saying "They didn't know about it and did not attend"

It should be very concerning to the teams and players involved that their names were attached to this. The question is: Why? One player, Cory Liuget, actually admitted being invited to the event but didn't know his name was being used to promote it.

Another player, Major Wright, of the Bears, released a statement to the Herald saying his name was authorized to be used in association with a party he thought was hosted by other NFL players and didn't know it was tied to the Exxxotica Expo. Hmmmm.

More than likely, nothing else will come of this. But it should be a flag to both players and teams that they really, truly, need to be careful what and where there names are attached to.

Eric Berry is one reason there is hope for athletes....

Despite the occasional snarkiness and reporting on the goofy, strange and often bad things that athletes do, we really, honestly would rather tell you about some of the good things that they do.

One of those, is about someone we have been familiar with ever since he lit up the metro Atlanta High School football scene, Eric Berry. To say that Eric gets what it means to be successful, would be an understatement.

We came across two entirely different stories this morning, talking about two different acts, both done by Berry which reinforces our thought and belief that he truly is one of the good guys.

The first, happened back in Atlanta. In late July, he got a bunch of people together and helped renovate the Fairburn, Georgia park that he grew up playing football in.

I think the best quote in the story is at the very end...said Berry "I don't want to be someone like, 'He made it, but he didn't come back'". "I want them to see they can reach a goal...I don't want to just be from here, someone they see on TV and not in the community or the park".


The other story comes from Berry's NFL team, the Kansas City Chiefs. Berry was their 1st Round Draft pick and has already done some things that have made him standout in that community as well.

He did something for a couple of kids after a long day of practice that floored both the kids and a writer for the Arrowhead Pride sports blog.

None of this surprises us. We've covered and interviewed Berry multiple times from when he was a standout at Creekside High to his days at the University of Tennessee. His family played a large part in bringing him up right and sure, he is enjoying the role that he is playing.

The important thing is recognizing that without others you can never be what you want to be. No, you don't need to do things because you need to be loved. You need to do good and nice things because it's who you are and because you enjoy doing it. Young Mr. Berry seems to recognize this and for that we...we say thank you.

13 Year Old Commits To Tennessee

Evan Berry is 13 years old, is the younger brother of Tennessee All-American Eric Berry and hasn't played a game of high school football yet he has verbally committed to the Vols.

By NCAA rule, Tennessee can't offer a scholarship to an athlete that young and the Vols haven't offered one to Evan Berry.

Berry told Rival.com who first reported the story: "It's the only college I know right now and it seems the best for me," Berry, 13, said. "My dad went there and my brother is there now. I know I can do the same things there. I have a real friendly relationship with the coaches there. I don't know them too well, but I know I will have plenty of time to get to know them."

Evan, who will begin his high school career at Creekside High School in Fairburn, GA is projected to be a quarterback or safety, just like his big brother.

Let's see how his high school career progresses and if he changes his commitment along the way.
