"Today Show" Story A Little Loose With The MVP's...

((HT: NBC/"Today Show"))

First and foremost, if there is anything that went down that was intimidatory, morally or criminally wrong, bullish, boorish, or felonious, the HQ would be the first group to say that the book needs to be thrown at any and all parties that screwed up. And that includes universities, bureaucracies, and individuals.

The "Today Show" aired a report this morning alleging that, in two cases of reported sexual abuse on the campuses of Indiana University and Wake Forest University, that both schools did everything possible to discredit the accusors in the case...

The Wake Forest accusor, Margaret Hurt, said that in her incident two basketball players forced her to have oral sex in a Miami hotel room after an NCAA regional game in Miami. The two players were identified as Jeff Teague and Gary Clark.

Here's the report...

So, here's where they went wrong in their research...

Gary Clark was nowhere near being one of the team's "most valuable players." He averaged two-and-a-half points per game in 29 games played...

Wake President Nathan Hatch responded to the report this way...

"I am troubled by the prevalence of sexual misconduct in our society today," Hatch said. "Regarding the described incident, however, I feel strongly that the University’s response, as well as our character, has been misrepresented."

Hatch wouldn't go into any further detail because of pending litigation...

Deacs Are Dominant

Somewhere up in the heavens, Skip Prosser is holding court with his friends bragging about this season's Wake Forest men's basketball team he assembled. Skip elbows Pete Newell and says "How about that big fella Chas McFarland." Glances over to Hank Iba and say, "Have you seen a better pair of forwards than James Johnson and Al-Farouq Aminu." Al McGuire speaks up and says to Skip "If Jeff Teague keeps this up Skip, it will be seashells and balloons for the dynamite Deacs."

Yes Skip Prosser should be coaching this team however, we lost Skip to a heart attack back in July 2007. If ever a man's spirit lives on then watch the 2008-09 Demon Deacons. There you will find the spirit of Skip Prosser. Every one of those players were recruited and in some way, influenced by Prosser

Prosser's friend and loyal assistant, Dino Gaudio, now leads the Deacs and hasn't altered course. The one chartered for 08-09 was for a special year and that has occurred and then some.

The win over North Carolina was no fluke. Wake Forest backed that up with a pair of road wins in the ACC. First blowing out Boston College in Boston, then heading to one of the toughest buildings in the ACC, Clemson's Littlejohn Coliseum and downs the previously unbeaten Clemson Tigers 78-68.

Jeff Teague is making a case not only to be ACC Player of the Year, but National honors too. Since ACC play began Teague has been in a Teague of his own scoring a career high 34 points against North Carolina, 29 against Boston College and 24 against Clemson.

Wake Forest is now 3-0 in the ACC and 16-0 overall, it's best start in 82 years. The Deacs are the only undefeated team in the nation and will be number one when the polls come out.

Along with Duke and North Carolina, Wake Forest is another legitimate Final Four team from the ACC. I wouldn't be surprised if not only the Deacs cut the nets at the ACC Tournament in Atlanta, but do it again in Detroit at the Final Four.

Skip Prosser may never stop bragging about this team.
