Wow...surprise. More bizarre news from the ever changing adventures and exploits of unemployed NASCAR driver Jeremy Mayfield and his "Interesting Family Dynamic".

Word today, Mayfield has filed a wrongful death suit against his "Step-mother" Lisa Mayfield claiming that she was the cause of his fathers suicide in 2007.

In an additional side note, Mayfield was also sued today by Arrington Manufacturing over upaid bills for engine work. No word yet if he considers that a conspiracy to get him out of NASCAR.

We really are starting to think that Mr. Mayfield may need some psychiatric help. Things are falling down all around him and they seem to be everyone else's fault. We don't know why he thinks NASCAR is trying to "Get rid" of him by creating false drug tests or any of other bizzaro accusations. He really was never that "Big" of a deal in racing...until very recently, nobody would have ever know if he was racing on any given week or not.

Mayfield Takes Out TRO On Mayfield

The wife of Jeremy Mayfield on Tuesday took out a restraining order against her husband's stepmother ((pictured, thanks Catawba County Sheriff's Department)) and principal witness for NASCAR's case against the suspended Sprint Cup driver.

Shana Mayfield filed the request at the Iredell County sheriff's department.

"She will be served as soon as they can find her," Shana told ESPN.com.

The order was sought three days after Lisa Mayfield showed up intoxicated at her stepson's home Saturday night and arrested on four counts of simple assault and for trespassing.

According to the arrest warrant, Lisa physically confronted the husband and wife caretakers living on the property, their daughter and her boyfriend. She is scheduled for trial on Sept. 14.

"[She] told our caretakers she would come back to kill us, she wasn't done," Shana said.

Madeline Bone, who works on the Mayfield property with her husband Damien says Lisa Mayfield "was cussing my husband, calling him racial slurs while hitting him. I pointed my finger at her, we had some words, and, she kicked me in the crotch. (Lisa) Mayfield told me several times she was going to kill me and Shana Mayfield.. she'd be back to get us."

Records indicate Lisa Mayfield gave a home address in Statesville, but, that's not exactly what Fox News found when we arrived at 143 Taxidermy Road in Statesville.

William Eppinger says he rents the house from Lisa Mayfield's son. "I'm just the tenant yeah I rent it from her son and then he went to jail and then she showed up out of nowhere. We paid her rent and she was all like out of it." said, Eppinger.

Jeremy Mayfield's stepmother faces a Sept. 14 court date on assault and trespassing charges after a visit to the suspended NASCAR driver's home Saturday night.

Lisa Mayfield, 48, of Statesville, ((Pictured, thanks WSOCTV.com)) was charged with simple assault and second-degree trespassing after being taken into custody by police in the town of Catawba. Police say they were called to Jeremy Mayfield’s house after a complaint that someone was intoxicated and pounding on his door.

The matter will be heard in Catawba County District Court, where records list Jeremy Mayfield and four other people as witnesses.

Stepmom Sues Jeremy Mayfield For Slander

Jeremy Mayfield's stepmother sued the suspended NASCAR driver Wednesday, claiming he made slanderous, false and defamatory statements.

In civil court papers filed in Iredell County civil court, Lisa Mayfield argues her stepson falsely accused her of killing his father and taking money from NASCAR. She's seeking compensatory and punitive damages of more than $10,000 each and "further relief as the Court may deem just and proper."

Jeremy Mayfield's comments in several interviews came after his stepmother signed an affidavit claiming she witnessed him taking methamphetamine at least 30 times over seven years. Her affidavit was part of a NASCAR filing asking the federal judge who lifted the driver's drug suspension to reinstate the ban.

The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has since ruled in NASCAR's favor to keep Mayfield off the track.

The driver has denied ever using the illegal drug.

Lisa Mayfield attorney Edmund Gaines wrote in the three-page filing that Jeremy Mayfield made the comments with "intent to injure and damage the Plaintiff" and "with reckless disregard for the truth."

In interviews, Jeremy Mayfield suggested NASCAR paid his stepmother to lie about his alleged past drug use and accused her of killing his father.

"NASCAR did a great job, that is pretty much a low blow, especially with a lady who is involved with killing my dad," according to the court filing, quoting an interview with Charlotte, N.C., TV station WSOC.

Police ruled Terry Mayfield's death in 2007 a suicide.

John Buric, an attorney for Jeremy Mayfield, did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Mayfield was suspended May 9 for failing a random drug test eight days earlier for what NASCAR has said was a positive test for methamphetamine. The driver sued, and the lawsuit has been set for a jury trial on Sept. 13, 2010, according to court documents filed Tuesday.

NASCAR: Witnesses Will Testify Against Mayfield

NASCAR has a “significant number” of witnesses who will testify that suspended driver Jeremy Mayfield ((PIctured, thanks NASCAR Images)) used methamphetamines, a NASCAR official said Monday.

The official said those witnesses would testify to recent and long-term use.

The official's remarks followed a court filing Monday by NASCAR attorneys in U.S. District Court. The filing asked U.S. District Court Judge Graham Mullen to lift an injunction he granted this month so Mayfield could return to racing.

Mayfield was suspended May 9 after a positive test for what NASCAR later identified as meth.

An appeals court last week put on hold Mullen's injunction, but Monday's filing is part of a larger lawsuit between NASCAR and Mayfield.

The NASCAR official declined to further characterize the witnesses to Mayfield's meth use, but in Monday's court filing, NASCAR attorneys said they were reluctant to testify after Mayfield angrily responded to similar testimony from his stepmother, Lisa Mayfield.

Jeremy Mayfield said Lisa Mayfield is “basically a whore” and accused her of killing his father, who died in 2007.

Attorneys say Mayfield apparently contacted one of the unnamed witnesses to convince her that despite her recollection, he never used drugs.

Mayfield continues to deny any methamphetamine use, his attorney John Buric said.

In the filing, NASCAR also asked Mullen to select an independent, third-party laboratory that could test a sample of Mayfield's urine.

Mayfield's attorneys have argued that he has tested negative for meth using the same sample that produced a positive NASCAR test, and that the positive NASCAR test might have come from a combination of allergy and other medication Mayfield was taking.

NASCAR attorneys have argued that Mayfield's lab did not use a test sophisticated enough to distinguish meth from those other medications.

Buric called NASCAR's request for a third-party lab “ridiculous.”

“There's clearly a process in place for this,” he said. “We think the rules require that we have the say in where our sample gets sent.”

Papers Filed In Mayfield Suit Claim Independent Test Negative- AGAIN!

An independent drug test on Jeremy Mayfield was negative for methamphetamines, contradicting the results of a NASCAR test taken 40 minutes earlier, the driver claimed in court documents filed Tuesday ((the 41 car is pictured, again, thanks NASCAR Images)).

In response to NASCAR's claim that Mayfield again tested positive for methamphetamines on July 6, Mayfield submitted an affidavit to the U.S. District Court that said he traveled to Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory, N.C., right after NASCAR collected a sample at his Catawba County home.

In a room he described as "very sterile," Mayfield said he emptied his pockets, washed his hands and was ushered into a bathroom, where he provided another urine sample.

Mayfield said in the court filing he received confirmation from Laboratory Corporation of America in Raleigh, N.C., that his sample was negative on July 10 -- the same day NASCAR informed his counsel that its sample was positive.

He said the results of his test are "consistent with my lifestyle as I have not and do not use or abuse methamphetamines.

"It is impossible for methamphetamine to be in my body as I have never consumed that substance."

Dr. Harold Schueler of the Broward County (Fla.) Medical Examiner's Office, filed an affidavit on behalf of Mayfield that claimed the levels of methamphetamine in NASCAR's test are "astronomical" and "could be remotely accurate, unless Mr. Mayfield was deceased or a chronic abuser."

The filing also denied accusations made last week by his estranged former stepmother, who said in her own affidavit she witnessed Mayfield use methamphetamines at least 30 times and that the driver cooked it himself until the ingredients became too hard to obtain. She also said she witnessed him use the drug at Darlington Raceway in 1999.

"I deny Lisa Mayfield's allegation that I used, cooked or purchased methamphetamines," Mayfield wrote. "Lisa Mayfield's assertion that I used methamphetamine just prior to the 1999 Darlington race is a lie. I finished second in the 1999 Darlington race."

There were two races at Darlington in 1999, and Mayfield finished second and third. Lisa Mayfield's affidavit, submitted last week by NASCAR, did not specify before which race she witnessed him using drugs.

Mayfield was suspended May 9 for failing a random drug test taken eight days earlier for what NASCAR has said was a positive test for methamphetamines. The driver sued, and a federal judge issued an injunction July 1 that lifted his suspension based on the argument that NASCAR's testing system is flawed.

NASCAR asked U.S. District Court Judge Graham Mullen last week to reverse the injunction based on new evidence -- the failed July 6 test and Lisa Mayfield's sworn testimony.

Mayfield's attorneys on Tuesday argued in their response that the July 6 test results -- positive or negative -- should not be taken into consideration because the case is about a failed May 1 test.

"This Court's preliminary injunction lifted a suspension for a drug test performed on May 1, 2009, the questionable circumstances surrounding which necessarily remain unchanged," they wrote.

Mayfield also disputed NASCAR's chronology of the July 6 testing sequence, in which the sanctioning body claims he delayed giving a sample for more than seven hours.

Although Mayfield attorney John Buric has said Mayfield submitted to an independent test during that seven-hour span, the only test results mentioned in Tuesday's filing are of the 9 p.m. trip to Frye Medical Center.

Buric did not immediately respond to a call and an e-mail from the Associated Press.

Mayfield said in his affidavit that he was at a lab waiting to be tested around 5 p.m. when NASCAR ordered him home to meet their collectors. His affidavit makes no mention of him actually giving a sample -- which Buric has said the driver was doing during the time NASCAR could not locate him for its own test.

Mayfield: "She Shot And Killed My Dad"

Jeremy Mayfield didn't spare his stepmother or NASCAR while defending himself against Wednesday's report that he again has tested positive for methamphetamines.

NASCAR filed court papers on Wednesday that said his most recent drug test came back positive, and included an affidavit from Mayfield's stepmother, Lisa, who claims to have seen the driver using drugs on numerous occasions.

Mayfield said he does not trust NASCAR testing and saved his strongest words for his stepmother.

"She's basically a whore," he told ESPN.com's David Newton. "She shot and killed my dad."

Mayfield's father, Terry, died in 2007 at age 56 of what the Chapel Hill, N.C., medical examiner called a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the chest. There was no sign of criminal activity or foul play, according to the sheriff's report, which noted Lisa Mayfield said Terry Mayfield was "very depressed about not talking with his son, Jeremy, that this was only a matter of time."

Nevertheless, Mayfield told ESPN.com on Wednesday that his stepmother will be served with a wrongful death suit on Thursday.

"She knows what we've got on her," Mayfield said. "For her to come out and do this is pretty ballsy. Everybody that's ever known me knows I never, ever have been around her for more than 10 hours of my life. She's a gold digger. I knew that from day one."

Although he said he has no proof, Mayfield claimed that NASCAR paid Lisa Mayfield for her affidavit.

"It wouldn't take much money. She tried to get money from me," Mayfield said. "I have a very short fuse when it comes to her."

Mayfield said he has been tested for drugs every two to five days by an independent lab and never tested positive. He said it was no coincidence that the tests by NASCAR's lab resulted in his suspension and now, another positive test. In blasting NASCAR, he went straight for the top -- chairman Brian France.

"Brian France talking about effective drug programs is like having Al Capone talking about effective law enforcement," Mayfield said.

Mayfield, who was suspended in May for a violation of NASCAR's substance-abuse policy, had been granted a temporary injunction against his suspension, but that was before this latest test result came out. Now, he has no interest in getting back on the track and instead will concentrate on fighting these latest troubles.

"They're playing this high school [expletive], they better be ready," Mayfield said of NASCAR. "I'm coming after them in a big way. I'm prepared to go all the way and have the backing to do it if it takes everything I've got. I'm not going to back down for something I didn't do."
