TWTW Bowling: FIU Gets First Bowl Win Over Toledo

If you went to sleep, you missed a good ending...

FIU trailed Toledo 24-7 at one point in the game in Detroit, only to come back to lead 31-24, only to trail 32-31 with 75 seconds left.

Toledo's kickoff, and the return they gave up, gave the Golden Panthers decent field position. But FIU had to convert a 4th-and-17 with a hook-and-lateral to set up the following...

The HQ covered tailback Darriet Perry from his time at Lowndes ((GA)) High, and were quite pleased with his efforts last night...

Martin Ward ran for two touchdowns in the first half Saturday, and Marshall held off Ohio 21-17 in the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl.

DeQuan Bembry's interception with 40 seconds left sealed the victory for the Thundering Herd (7-6), who led by three touchdowns midway through the second quarter.

It was a pleasant experience for the HQ to see a dozen players from the state of Georgia starting for both teams in Detroit. Darius Marshall and Bembry played for central Georgia powerhouses- Baldwin and Hawkinsville. The HQ also noticed south, central, and metro Atlanta also represented in Camden County, Mary Persons, and Stephenson.

Props... but the HQ also recognized the Ohio U. QB from his days at Long Beach Poly.
