Was that really Michael Jordan practicing with the Bobcats?

Why yes it was. Really....truly, it was "His Airness" himself, old number 23, this time sporting an orange practice jersey and scrimmaging with the team he owns, the Charlotte Hornets. No, we are pretty sure he's not coming back, but when the Bobcats needed an extra man for this mornings workouts, the boss...well, he was ready.

Said head coach Paul Silas, "The guys work a little harder when he's out here and rightly so because he's working hard", adding "He's holding these guys accountable and it's great. I love him out here, he's teaching them how to protect the basketball, play hard on defense, how to talk, so it's a good thing".

We like the idea of the boss working with the workers, it should happen more often in business these days. Never mind the fact that in this case, the boss happens to be possibly the best player of all-time, that certainly doesn't hurt. And if you are a player, when the boss is out there running with you, I'm betting even the most egotistical NBA player wouldn't want to let him down.

Michael Jordan's sons don't believe what happens in Vegas should stay in Vegas...

This should make for a really interesting NCAA investigation.

Apparently, Michael Jordan's sons and another UCF basketball player spent a rather...shall we say...extravagant weekend in Las Vegas.

Jeff Jordan, the older of the two Jordan siblings posted a Twitter update speaking about spending oh...over $50K on Saturday.

While we fully realize that Michael Jordan has...well...a lot of money, this doesn't smell too good. Never mind that the boys have picked up daddy's propensity for gambling. They brought a non-relative along with them. That friends, is an NCAA violation in the waiting. We are quite sure the non-Jordan on the trip, one A.J Rompza doesn't have that kind of cash available to throw away.

Oh...in case you were wondering, the younger Jordan, Marcus...is only 20, you are supposed to be 21 to gamble in Vegas. Guess its only a problem if you get caught.

Yes, we know the trio was there under the auspices of attending Michael's fantasy basketball camp, but we question the brain power on this one. Have they not heard that what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas?

If...no, when the investigation starts, we will be sure to let you know.

Michael Jordan's Boys Reunite At UCF

When NBA legend Michael Jordan wants to see his sons play college basketball Orlando, Florida will be the destination. Marcus Jordan is entering his sophomore season at the University of Central Florida and now his older brother Jeff is joining.

Jeff is leaving Illinois after three ho-hum years with the Illini. The Air Jordan offspring averaged 1.6 points, 1.7 assists and 1.3 rebounds per game last season for Illinois.

"Jeff is a great young man and we look forward to him joining our basketball family," UCF head coach Donnie Jones said. "Jeff has a high basketball IQ and played in one of the best leagues in the country in the Big Ten."

Jeff Jordan may have basketball smarts and come from great bloodlines but there is nothing in that statement about what Jordan brings to the Knights as a player. Genetics only goes so far.

Henderson beats Michael Jordan...In Horse

Isn't there some sort of rule that says the Boss always wins? We ask that question because current Charlotte Bobcats co-owner and soon to be full owner and possibly the greatest basektball player ever...one Michael Jordan took on one of his players in a game of Horse.

The player, Duke grad and Bobcats benchwarmer...and Jordan employee Gerald Henderson. The game, the same game of Horse that most of us played as kids. Jordan...to his credit showed some flashes of being the legend he is, but the rust and lack of practice was too much and Henderson took the win.

D-League Owner Pulls Jordan Stunt, Pisses People Off...

Okay, first and foremost we get that it's the D-League- the developmental arm of the NBA. We get that...

It's all about marketing, promotion, and all that stuff... putting butts in the seats and maintaining a brand...

The Utah Flash are one of the newer franchise in the D-League and they thought a game of one-on-one between the Flash's Bryon Russell and Michael Jordan would be a great idea... subplot, rematch, all that...

One problem... the Flash's owner Brandt Andersen sent a Jordan look-a-like around town and put him in various situations- making it look like the whole thing would go off and that 23 was in Orem, Utah...

Right...

It went off, all right, Andersen shot himself a little higher than the foot with the no-show look-a-like...

He had to apologize...

NBDL President Dan Reed issued a statement as well:

"On behalf of the NBA Development League, I apologize to our fans for a Utah
Flash promotion that never should have happened. This promotion was clearly
ill-conceived. Brandt Andersen,the Utah Flash owner, has apologized to the Flash
fans and has reached out to Michael Jordan to apologize to him as well.
The Flash will refund the price of the tickets and has also offered free tickets
to an upcoming Flash game to everyone who was in attendance at Monday night's
game."

So, yeah, folks were pissed...

This is Old School Cool

Count me as impressed. Michael Jordan has new found respect...at least in my eyes. As most of you know, he is entering the Basketball Hall of Fame this year. Come to find out, when asked who he wanted to introduce him at the ceremony. He picked the original "Skywalker" himself...David Thompson.

For those of you who don't know who Thompson is, look up the history of the American Basketball Association (ABA). Or for that matter, check back with North Carolina State basketball circa early 1970's. If you watch the highlights and see some guy jumping out of the building...it was probably Thompson.

Thompson had a modestly successful career in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets, once they moved to the NBA. In fact, he and "The Iceman" George Gervin staged one of the greatest scoring title battles in the history of professional basketball in if memory serves...1979.

I know that for some, the choice is odd. Why would a North Carolina Tar Heel choose someone who played for NC State? It's quite simple really. When Jordan was a kid...his idol was none other than David "Skywalker" Thompson.

It appears that BET founder Robert Johnson wants out as the majority owner as the Charlotte Bobcats. There's talk that minority owner and Director of Basketball Operations, Michael Jordan, is interested in filling that vacancy.

WBTV creates the standard amount of panic by asking the question about moving the franchise in the introduction.

LeBron James Has Officially Entered The Jordan Zone

I have no words for LeBron James. Just watch "King James" shoot down the Orlando Magic in game 2 of the NBA Eastern Conference Finals. Marv Albert has the call (Thanks TNT Sports/Youtube.com)

James told the Cleveland Plain Dealer: "I was going to come get the ball no matter what happened. I knocked down the shot. Biggest shot I've made in my career." James said. "A second is a long time for me, for other it is very short. As a kid you practice those moments."

Just a guess but this clip of LeBron James' game winner will be played over and over for the next 20 plus years. That also means Hedo Turkoglu will be just as famous as Craig Ehlo was from Jordan's shot.
