Owen Hart's Widow Suing WWE

((HT: Hartford Courant-Altimari/Haar))

Martha Hart, the widow of wrestler Owen Hart, is suing World Wrestling Entertainment over the continued use of Owen's likeness within the organization.

Owen Hart died in 1999 when a harness he was in malfunctioned and he fell to his death inside Kemper Arena in Kansas City during a pay-per-view performance.

Here's coverage of the Martha Hart press conference, thanks to our friends at WTNH-TV

Jerry McDevitt, the WWE's longtime attorney, dismissed Hart's lawsuit as "a cheap political stunt" and said it has no merit.

"The circumstances kind of reek a little bit of political orchestration," McDevitt told the Courant. The suit is "at best, a routine intellectual property lawsuit." McDevitt also says that this is the first objection he has heard from Martha Hart, on any level, since their previous lawsuit was settled in 2000.

Scott Hall Goes Off... Again...

Former AWA, WCW, WWE, and TNA wrestler Scott Hall got into it with a comedian at a roast of the Iron Sheik over the weekend in Monroe, New Jersey. The comedian, "Round Boy" Jimmy Graham, broke out a joke about Owen Hart- using Hart as a punchline- that set Hall off.

According to long-time wrestling journalist Bill Apter, Hall then approached the dais and lunged after Graham- who started laughing, apparently thinking Hall's act was a "work."

It wasn't. Hall was then escorted out of the dining hall, but not before he let Graham know how he felt about the idea of using a dead guy as part of a joke.

Once again, we're going to let the pictures to the talking... the first is the beginning of the whole proceeding. The second is an interview Apter held with Hall after the fact. "The Razor" doesn't apologize for anything...

411mania has comments from Graham about the incident...
And here's the joke...

I said, ‘After the Sheik and Hacksaw Jim got caught sniffing coke in the parking lot his career fell faster than Owen Heart ((sic))'

Just what we thought- absolutely hilarious...
It's obvious to us here at OSG HQ that the guy writes his own material...
Don't forget to tip your waitress and try the meatloaf...
