It Was 20 Years Ago Today

Mario Lemieux of the Pittsburgh Penguins scored a goal five different ways in a game against the New Jersey Devils. Devils goalies Bob Sauve and Chris Terreri were the victims of 66's 5v5, powerplay, short-handed, penalty shot, and empty net goals in the win.

All we can say is enjoy...
Gary Thorne is on the bark...

Greatest player of all time. Would've surpassed Gretzky had he not had Hodgkin's lymphoma and many back injuries.

I used to be a homeless rodeo clown but now I am a world class magician !

Gretzky is the greatest but he was surrounded by Hall of Famers while Mario had a few here ant there but mostly had to do it alone, unless you count Cancer, chemotherapy and multiple back surgeries. No one could defend one on one.

Gretzky MADE those guys hall of famers. And yeah it sucks Lemieux had those injuries and illnesses but saying he "would've" surpassed Wayne doesn't mean he did. WAYNE GRETZKY GREATEST HOCKEY PLAYER OF ALL TIME. BAR NONE!!

I love Mario, always thought he was a class act and a world class hockey player. However, the older ones in the crowd may beg to differ that a certain Mr. Orr was in fact the best hockey player to ever lace up a pair of blades.
Wayne was great, no doubt, but he wouldn't have won any scoring titles playing the blueline.

#4 did. Plain and simple. AND he had to contend with a certain #7 sitting in the crease all the time!!

Orr. Greatest. Ever.
