The Kansas City Chiefs said Wednesday afternoon that QB Matt Cassel missed practice because of an appendectomy. A doctor close to the situation says that Cassel might not be cleared to play for four weeks.
Head coach Todd Haley unfortunately wouldn't provide any other details. He wouldn’t confirm if Cassel would be ready to play against the San Diego Chargers Sunday.
Chiefs quarterback Brodie Croyle took the first-team snaps at practice. The Chiefs on Wednesday also signed quarterback Tyler Palko to the 53-man roster.
