The Holiday season wasn't going to go well for University of Pittsburgh head coach Dave Wannstedt. Pitt athletic director Steve Pederson wanted to make a coaching change. According to Pittsburgh Post Gazette sources Wannstedt was going to be releived of his coaching duties and Pederson gave him a chose, resign and stay with the Panther family or your fired. Wannstedt took the first option.

Wannstedt has the option to coach in the BBVA Compass Bowl but hasn't made a decision. He will remain at the school in a new position as the special assistant to athletic director Steve Pederson.
That should be a great gig.
