FCS: #13 Montana State Survives A Scare Against Idaho State

Anytime we can show the Big Sky Conference its a bonus here at the OSG HQ, even better when the game comes from Holt Arena in Pocatello, Idaho.

Saturday 13th ranked Montana State got a scare from Idaho State, the Bengals have one win this year and last in the Big Sky.

Bobcat fans can thank quarterback Denarius McGhee for saving Montana State's backside. McGhee passing numbers on the day were 29 of 40 for 402 yards and one touchdown while leading the team in rushing with 45 yards and a touchdown.

That rushing touchdown by McGhee was a winner for the Bobcats.

Check out the highlights from Holt Arena. (Thanks KPVI-TV, Pocatello, Idaho.

No Defense In Sac-town. Montana State Defeats Sacramento State 64-61

Do they play defense in the Big Sky Conference? Having covered that conference for three years the answer is maybe.

Montana State and Sacramento State played a game of "the last one scores wins." It turned out that would be the Montana State Bobcats.

Montana State had a 37-10 lead at halftime but the Sac State offense came alive with five 3rd quarter touchdowns to take a 45-44 lead.

More points were scored with the game ending in a 61-61 tie at the end of regulation. Jason Cunningham's 25 yard field goal in overtime proved to big the winner as the Hornets could not score in their overtime possession.

“I’ve been involved in high-scoring games before,” Montana State head coach Rob Ash said, “but not one with as much drama as this, and not one with a comeback like this. This was a crazy game.”

That win was Ash's 200th as a head coach.

Sacramento State piled up 624 yards of total offense, Montana State had 646 yards of total offense.

Enjoy the highlights from this wild one in Sac-town. (Thanks KXTV-TV Sacramento, CA)

Washington State Gets By Montana State.... Barely

Those of us at the OSG HQ called for Montana State to defeat Washington State and the Bobcats damn near pulled it off which would have made Jon, Brother Phil and yours truly look like geniuses.

Wazzou was down 22-7 heading into the fourth quarter but Cougar pride took over scoring 17 answered points to eek out a win 23-22.

Here's the highlights from KREM-TV, Spokane, Washington.

And some post game sound from Cougar safety Chima Nwachukwu.
