Percy Harvin recovering after collapsing during practice

A scary story this afternoon in Minnesota as wide reciever Percy Harvin collapsed while practicing with the Vikings early Thursday afternoon.

Harvin, who had missed several practices due to a persistent migrane problems, was out there for the 1st time this week. He apparently doubled over a little after noon and eventually was taken to the hospital via an ambulance.

Thankfully, Vikings reciever Bernard Berrian tweeted just a couple of hours ago that he was with Harvin and that Harvin was doing okay.

Harvin has been dealing with the sometimes crippling headaches for years. They have already cost him two weeks of training camp time. Hopefully, he'll take the time and get fully checked out to see if there is a solution to this. We wish him well.

"...we’ve confirmed that one of the players outed by the web site — Florida receiver Percy Harvin — indeed tested positive for marijuana at the Combine.

The news isn’t a surprise, given that neither Harvin nor his agent, Joel Segal, have disputed the original report.

The impact of the result on Harvin’s draft standing remains to be seen. Smoking marijuana is a fairly common phenomenon; the issue is whether a guy can stop doing it in order to avoid getting suspended.

The fact that Harvin wasn’t able to produce clean urine for a test that he knew he was going to be taking isn’t an encouraging sign."

But don't be surprised if someone like the Colts, Bengals, or Cowboys takes a flyer on one of this year's moodiest draft selections anyway...

The big question now for former UF wide out Percy Harvin is: Where's the draft status now...?

Harvin, apparently, locked in a 12 on his Wonderlic exam, and now there's talk of a failed drug test- along with three other NFL prospects...

"...word started leaking out that Harvin had tested positive for marijuana at the Combine. Citing sources in the NFL, NFLDraftBible.com reported that Harvin was one of at least four prospects to test positive in Indianapolis. The others, the Site said, were Illinois cornerback Vontae Davis, UTEP kicker Jose Martinez, Boston College defensive tackle B.J. Raji. Sports Illustrated also reported Thursday that Raji had tested positive.


If Harvin did indeed fail his drug test two months ago, chances are good he's going to slip out of the first round. There were questions aboutHarvin even before this news started leaking. The biggest being his history of missing time with injuries during his UF career.


Add it all up - the durability concerns, the Wonderlic score and the possible failed drug test - and it could turn out to be a disappointing draft day for Harvin. Not only is his reputation getting hammered, he could take a huge financial hit if he falls into the second round."

Schwartz, the popular Defensive Coordinator with the Tennessee Titans, assumes a role that I'm not sure he's going to want in a few years. Percy Goes, Spikes Stays...

A busy day for YOUR BCS Champions, the Florida Gators. Wide Receiver/Athlete Percy Harvin declared his intentions to turn pro this afternoon. Harvin, a gifted athlete...when healthy was a fantastic college player, who as a pro will either be an abosolute star...or Peter Warrick.

The other news from Gator town is Middle Linebacker Brandon Spikes is returning. Spikes, the teams leading tackler and emotional leader on Defense isn't ready to start being paid to play (legally) just yet.
