Get this...
Sinclair Broadcast says it has bought the "Ring of Honor" wrestling outfit and will start showing matches on its stations in September as part of their new programming additions.
ROH has a weekly TV show and also does the standard amount of PPV and DVD sales like everyone else...
Steve Marks, chief operating officer of Sinclair's television group, says the deal gives Sinclair multiple revenue streams, such as "advertising, product sponsorships, Internet pay-per-view, live wrestling tour events and sales of DVDs and other merchandise."
Sinclair owns 58 television stations in 35 markets, most of them in the eastern half of the U.S., as well as Texas, Oklahoma and Nevada and they may eventually syndicate Ring of Honor themselves to other non-Sinclair markets.
The HQ shudders at the thought of the folks that tried the whole "Media Central" idea getting into wrestling syndication. But for Sinclair, the bottom line is cheap entertainment... just like cheap news...
Here's your latest video wire from ROH their ownselves...
They don't discuss the sale...

Paul Belfi's Wrestling Passion Bucket Overflows...
((HT: Deadspin, Hickey/SportsTalkNetwork.com))
The HQ admits that there are a lot of problems with modern-day wrestling...
That's why we don't watch anymore unless old-schoolers are involved...
With good writing...
Pro Wrestling This Week's Paul Belfi goes ape-nuts bonkers*** about the first issue- bad wrestling and bad writing... but Belfi himself is the second issue...
And a microcosm of what's 'rong with 'rassling...
It's a rant for the ages... but Belfi really needs decaf...

Wrestlers Use "Hypno-Tosis..." To Win Match...
((HT: CZW via Chris Chase/Yahoo!))
The HQ has long been disappointed at the state of professional wrestling and its inherent entertainment value...
There are very few wrestlers that know how to "work the stick" as we say...
Kinda like this...
((HT: WWE/NWA/youtube))
And we really don't know how to process this three-and-a-half minutes from the folks at CZWrestling...
Entertaining...? To a degree...
Odd...? You bet...
Um... sure...
CombatZone Wrestling claims to be "ultraviolent entertainment." The HQ thinks that a lot of the above white-boy dance skills exhibit that very fact...
Congratulations...

Jeff Hardy Pleading Guilty
((HT: Charlotte Observer))
Jeff Hardy, who was arrested last year on drug charges, plans to plead guilty in court next month, according to the Moore County ((NC)) district attorney.
Moore County deputies raided Hardy's home in September of 2009 after Fayetteville police received a tip about drug use inside the house.
Lawmen found 262 doses of Vicodin, 180 Soma prescription pills, 55 milliliters of anabolic steroids, a residual amount of powder cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
No word on the sentences Hardy will face and what the possible sentencing could be once he enters his plea in open court.
Hardy, 33, is the current world champion of TNA.

Hey, Yo! Scott Hall Busted Again...
((HT: Orlando Sentinel/Colarossi via Deadspin))
The HQ will reminisce as much as the next guy...
We like to remember Scott Hall this way... one of the most influential moments in the history of professional wrestling...
((HT: WCW/xoxEdgeLoverxox))
But this is more just repetition...
Scott Hall ((pictured, thanks Seminole County Sheriff's Office)) was arrested a little over a week ago on charges of disorderly intoxication and resisting an officer following an incident at a Seminole County bar called the "Hitching Post" in the town of Chuluota, Florida...
Seminole County Sheriff's Deputies were called on a disturbance complaint about 1:43 a.m. And remember what the HQ has said about nothing good ever happening after a
certain time in the middle of the night...
A bartender was telling Hall to leave when the cops arrived, but he was yelling and cussing at anyone in sight. The deputy there also said Hall appeared "intoxicated with slurred speech and bloodshot eyes."
When the deputy advised Hall he was being placed in custody for disorderly intoxication, he tried to prepare him for the handcuffs, but Hall refused.
That's always a good sign... from the police report...
"Scott refused this directive, and instead, thrust out his chest, walking closer to me, stating, 'I ain't going down for this [expletive deleted],' " the report states. "This is [expletive deleted]. You know it's [expletive deleted]."
"Due to Scott's inordinate size, 6'05", 295 pounds, I utilized two sets of handcuffs in tandem," the deputy noted in the report.
Hall can't go back to the "Hitching Post" ever again as well...
So, this is Hall now...

WOOOOO!!!! Whoops... Naitch's Wife Charged With Assaulting Naitch...

Police say the wife of pro wrestler Ric Flair has been charged with assaulting him in their North Carolina home.
And this is, apparently, not a work...
In a statement, Flair called the incident an unfortunate disagreement and said he did nothing wrong.
Authorities say officers were called to Flair's home in south Charlotte on Sunday night. Flair said his wife attacked him after they went out for dinner.
Police charged 41-year-old Jacqueline Beems ((pictured, thanks Mecklenburg County Jail)) with simple assault. She was released from jail a few hours after her arrest.
The 60-year-old Flair, known to the rest of the world as Richard Morgan Fliehr, told police that he and the suspect -- who is not named in the police report -- came back from dinner and went to Fliehr's home in Charlotte's Stonecroft neighborhood.
Fliehr/Flair told police officers the suspect assaulted him inside the house following a domestic dispute. According to the police report, Fliehr sustained minor injuries, which were caused by "personal weapons" such as hands, feet and teeth, but he refused to be transported to the hospital.
Fliehr/Flair is married to 41-year-old Jacqueline Baines Beems. According to the Mecklenburg County Jail website, Beems was arrested Monday morning at 4:40 a.m. and charged with assault and battery.
Here's how WBTV in Charlotte quickly handled the story...
And here's some video of Naitch, simply because we can...

Angle Escapes from Charges
Professional Wrestler Kurt Angle is a free man today. He was found not guilty of violating a protection order and for possession of HGH in a Pittsburgh court.
The story from Pittsburgh's Post-Gazette.com here.
Angle, who was arrested back in August was allegedly stalking his former girlfriend Trenesha Briggers told the judge that Briggers made up the stories of harrasment to get him out of a home he owned in the Pittsburgh suburbs. He also had a legal doctors prescription for the HGH. There will however be a hearing in late September to determine if the TRO should be made permanent.
It isn't the first time that Angle has been mixed up with something like this, but the whole story sounded a little bizzare from the get go. Angle, the current champion for TNA Wrestling competed the day after the initial incident and seems to be going about his business. We will see if that lasts.
As much as the Wrestling business isn't supposed to imitate real life, take a look at this clip only a few days before the incident allegedly happened, with his now real life ex-wife. Draw your own conclusions...Courtesy: TNA/You Tube:

Kurt Angle Busted For Violating Protection Order, Possession
((HT: WTAE-TV))
Kurt Angle, 40, was arrested on charges of driving with a DUI suspension and violating a protection from abuse order obtained about an hour and a half earlier. Angle was taken to the Allegheny County Jail. He posted bail and is scheduled to appear for a hearing Tuesday on the drug and harassment charges and Wednesday on the charge of violating the protection order, a court clerk said.
The criminal report states Trenesha Biggers was sitting at about 8 a.m. Saturday outside a Starbucks in Robinson Town Center, using the Internet because she was scared to use the computer at her home in Moon Township where she lives with Angle, her ex-boyfriend.
At that time, according to the criminal complaint, "She saw Angle circle the parking lot three times, staring at her while she was outside."
Police said Biggers left the Starbucks and headed to a nearby Giant Eagle supermarket and called 911. When police arrived, officers said, Angle denied stalking Biggers, 26, who is also known as "Rhaka Khan" in the wrestling world.
The responding officer wrote in the criminal complaint that he found a "capped syringe and two vials of human growth hormone" inside the car Angle was driving.
Here's the TNA promotion of their pay-per-view that Angle was supposed to be headlining Sunday evening... no word on whether or not Angle will be making an appearance...
And it looks like Angle needed all that help if "The Blueprint" Matt Morgan wanted his piece of the TNA title...

Angle Arrested

Professional Wrestler Kurt Angle is in a spot of trouble with the law. It seems Mr. Angle was arrested early Saturday morning for driving while his license is on a DUI suspension and also for violating a restraining order taken out on him just a few hours earlier. And as an added bonus...Angle was found with a syringe and two vials of "Human Growth Hormone".
Angle will be appearing in Allegeheny County court, not once, but twice this week for the different charges. He was scheduled to participate in a TNA Pay-Per View show on Sunday, since he has bonded out, it will be interesting to see if he appears.
