And Edwards gets an amazingly similar decision to that of Nu'Keese Richardson...
Judicial diversion...
In English, if he keeps his nose clean for two years he won't have to serve any jail time for this act of anti-Mensadom. Edwards pleaded guilty to a charge of felony reckless endangerment...
He chalks it up to "wrong place, wrong time..."
But when you look at the surveillance tape, there's some forethought here...
All that means that Edwards is saying what he needs to right now to stay out of the hoosegow... and we get that...
Here's WATE'TV's Hana Kim at the courthouse...
Edwards is looking at either Division I-AA or Division II for his next move. He has to staying school during that time as well to satisfy the judicial diversion charge...

Kiffin Makes Attempted Robbery Players Go Away
***BREAKING NEWS****
The University of Tennessee and Coach Lane Kiffin have dismissed Freshmen Nu'Keese Richardson and Mike Edwards from the Volunteer football team this afternoon.
You'll recall that Richardson and Edwards along with another Football player, Janzen Jackson, were involved in an incident late last week where they apparently pulled a pellet gun on another student at a gas station and tried to rob him.
More on the story from WBIR-TV RIGHT HERE. ((Nu'Keese Richardson Photo//Courtesy: UT Sports.com))
Kiffin, who had engaged in a somewhat controversial recruiting war for Richardson had suspended all of the players involved after the incident. The fact that Richardson and Edwards were asked to leave the program would lead one to believe that the charges against them will stick.
The other player involved, Janzen Jackson, remains on a team suspension pending the outcome of the investigation.
This is not going to play well for Kiffin around the SEC. He's made it a point to be very aggressive when it comes to recruiting kids to come play in Knoxville.
The Vols had some...shall we say...similar issues under the previous coach, The Great Pumpkin, Philip Fulmer. The Vol nation makes no excuses for a "Win at all costs" attitude, however, they need to seriously take a long, hard look at the kids that they are bringing in to try and "Restore" there alleged "Past Glory".
That last graph was just my 2cents...
UPDATE: Here's how WATE-TV handled the reading of the Kiffin release as their 5:00 lead story- they even went to campus...

Thursday PM Update: Vols Arrests
((HT: WVLT-TV))
First and foremost, here's the exclusive video Volunteer TV has on the arrests of Janzen Jackson, Mike Edwards, and Nu'Keese Richardson...
Two of the three are out of jail as we type this...
Nu'Keese is still in the Knoxville annex of the Pahokee Pokey...
WVLT Sports Director Rick Russo was at practice to have Lane Kiffin tell him practically nothing because of the impending legal stuff...
Here are the arrest warrants of Janzen, Edwards, and Richardson...
JJ Stambaugh's reporting from the Knoxville News-Sentinel is here...
The most beautiful aspects of the whole thing are:
1) The getaway car was a Prius that was eventually stopped turning onto the street that leads to the football dorm and,
2) One of the kids was wearing UT football gear whe he got arrested...
We hear the three are suspended for the first half of the Ole Miss game Saturday...
That one was too easy...
