Atlanta- Because Rick Dudley's only allowed to tinker, that's what he got to do picking up Radek Dvorak and Robbie Schrempf while getting rid of Niclas Bergfors, Patrick Rissmiller, and Freddie Modin. He got to rearrange the deck chairs by adding more rental talent. The HQ thinks he's just getting warmed up and is just as equally confused as the Thrash flounder going 5-12-6 in their last 23...
Minnesota for standing pat, Montreal for standing pat, and Columbus for confusing us.
The HQ just wishes there was more to talk about, but it all happened early this year for some silly reason...

NBA Silly Season Continues With Williams And Bibby
First, the Utah Jazz surprised the civilized world by sending resident-alleged trouble-maker Deron Williams to New Jersey for point guard Devin Harris, power forward Derrick Favors, and two first-round picks (from the Nets in 2011 and the Golden State Warriors in 2012).
The word associated with it, normally, was "shock..."

The Jazz also get $3-million in cash to help with the whole salary cap evening-out.
Then, this evening the Atlanta Hawks send 2011 underachiever Mike Bibby to the Eastern Conference version of Siberia- Washington- for Kirk Hinrich and centerman Hilton Armstrong.
The Hawks sent Bibby, rookie Jordan Crawford, swingman Mo Evans and their 2011 first-round draft pick to the Wizards.
Bibby, Crawford and Evans were informed of the trade prior to the team’s game against Phoenix tonight. Jeff Teague replaced Bibby in the starting lineup- his first start of the year.
The Hawks proceeded to get blown out early on in Phoenix against the Suns. They were down 11 in the third quarter...
Bibby was interviewed recently on GPB's SportsCentral program about what advice he would give high schoolers about the game...

MeloDrama Over...??? Knicks Land Anthony
League sources are telling ESPN's Chris Broussard that none of the teams involved- the Knicks, Minnesota, and Denver- can say anything until tomorrow.
Here's the break-down according to Broussard...
Denver gets Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton, Danilo Gallinari, Timofey Mozgov, the Knicks' 2014 first-round draft pick, the Warriors' 2012 second-round pick, the Warriors' 2013 second-round pick and $3 million in cash while Chauncey Billups, Shelden Williams, Anthony Carter and Renaldo Balkman will head to New York, according to the Denver Post.
New York will send Anthony Randolph and Eddy Curry to Minnesota as part of the deal.
"I'm glad its over," Nuggets coach George Karl said, according to the Denver Post. "I'm glad it's an opportunity to reinvent. I think everybody handled it as classy as you could handle it. There's some sadness to it, there always will be."

NHL Silly Season Begins In Boston
The trade deadline is the 28th of February this year...
And Boston isn't waiting around...
First, they traded for Toronto defenseman Tomas Kaberle by sending high prospect Joe Colbourne and two draft picks to Brian Burke. Since Kaberle makes US$4.25-million, they had to clear some cap space... they only had a little over $2-million going into the deal.
As a result, they sent Blake Wheeler and Mark Stuart to Atlanta for face-off specialist Rich Peverley and defense-stiff Boris Valabik. Peverley has another year left on his deal and is a serviceable centerman at US$1.4M. Valabik never has lived up to his draft hype and should spend most of his time in Providence. What makes the deal more appealing for the Thrash and GM Rick Dudley is that Wheeler is a RFA at the end of this season and Stuart is an unrestricted free agent.

Oswalt To Philly Okey-Dokeyed
Houston AStros ace Roy Oswalt may be on his way to Philadelphia, but he has to waive his no-trade clause to do it...
So sayeth David Murphy, Phillies beat writer for Philly.com...
It looks like the Astros would get starter J.A. Happ and prospects in return...
Happ is economically feasible, at just under $500-grand for a salary figure...
FOSG and MyFoxHouston Sports Director Mark Berman broke the story last night, and says that both sides have agreed on just how much money the Astros and Phillies will divvy up when it comes to paying the Astros ace. The 2012 option year of Oswalt's contract is still in play.

Oswalt said he will pitch for the Phillies Friday against the Washington Nationals.
"I love the city of Houston and the Astros fans," Oswalt said. "They have been great to me and the Astros are a great organization. I think it's time for us to separate and do something different.
"Philly has a great team with a chance to go to the World Series. I wanted this deal to be good for both the Astros and me and I think it is."

The Bruins get two defensemen: Dennis Seidenberg and Matthew Bartkowski from Florida for two players and a 2nd-round pick.
Washington gets Scott Walker from Carolina for a 7th-round pick. Carolina also sends Aaron Ward to Anaheim for Justin Pogge and a 4th-rounder.
The biggest trade was last night: Toronto sends Alexei Ponikarovsky to Pittsburgh for two players. One of them, Martin Skoula, was flipped to New Jersey for a 5th-rounder this morning.

Some Deadline Dealing In The NHL
The Boston Briuns, the Eastern Conference leaders in the NHL, got much stronger for their Stanley Cup Run by acquiring Mark Recci from the Tampa Bay Lightening in exchange for forward Martins Karsums and defenseman Matt Lashoff. The spoked "B's" also get a 2nd round pick from the Lightening.The Bruins weren't done dealing yet getting defenseman Steve Montador from the Anaheim Ducks for forward Petteri Nokelainen.
In other NHL trade deadline news, The Phoenix Coyotes have traded center Olli Jokinen to the Calgary Flames for two young players and a conditional first-round draft pick.
The 30-year-old Jokinen had 21 goals and 21 assists in 57 games in his first season with Phoenix. He has 229 goals in 780 career NHL games with Los Angeles, the New York Islanders, Florida and Phoenix.
