A Rolling Free Agent Frenzy Gathers No Moss

And neither will any more NFL teams for the near future unless Randy Moss goes Favre on us any time soon...

Moss's agent, Joel Segal, says that Moss was considering offers from several teams, but made the decision to retire. Segal declined to comment specifically on the offers, instead saying his client felt the time was right to step away.

Moss caught 954 passes for 14,858 yards and 153 touchdowns in a career spent with Minnesota, Oakland, New England and Tennessee.

Moss shows up in Tennessee, local media miffed he didn't talk....

Yes, we were shocked too. (laughter)

The guy who is now on his third NFL team is still getting the royal treatment. Sure, it's great that the folks in Nashville consider the arrival of Randy Moss a big deal. And yeah, we'll probably hear from our friends in NashVegas about laughing about this, but it is funny. Really.

Moss said in his rambling, bizarre, final media availability as a Minnesota Viking that he would talk to the media anymore. And he stayed true to his word now that he's a Tennessee Titan.

Early Sunday evening, he arrived in Nashville, via a private charter plane. And yes, the local media was there, hoping to catch Moss's arrival and getting his thoughts about coming to the Music city. They are still waiting.

Moss had a car that met him at the plane, he got off the plane, got in the car and was whisked away. No doubt leaving friend of OSG Bob Kusek and other Nashville Sports Photographers scratching their collective heads.

DEVELOPING: Moss To Titans, Merriman To Bills

Multiple sources are reporting that the Tennesseee Titans have claimed wide receiver Randy Moss off of waivers from the Minnesota Vikings. The claim comes less than a month after Minnesota acquired Moss from the New England Patriots.

Other folks are reporting that the Buffalo Bills have claimed linebacker Shawne Merriman, formerly of the San Diego Chargers, off waivers. The Bills are at the top of the NFL's waiver priority list, meaning that Merriman is theirs regardless of any other claims. Merriman now has five days to report to the Bills, which he is expected to do.

Who says that players understand what it takes to curry favor? The great Randy Moss experiment for the Minnesota Vikings is over.

After pretty much no production...other than a $25,000 fine and a rambling post game statement after yesterdays loss to the New England Patriots, the Vikings decided they had enough issues rather than having to deal with Moss.

We are sure that someone else will claim Moss. Despite his declining skills and lack of willingness to work hard at his craft, he has some natural skill still left. Much like the quarterback that starts for the Vikings, Moss is living a bit on reputation rather than production.

It will be very interesting to see which team is willing to disrupt its locker room to take him on.
