For you Utah Jazz fans, the old J-note is back. The team unveiled their new (old) logo today.
Looks like their old logo with navy blue replacing the purple. (see below)
The new uniform reveal isn't until August. My quess they will look like the threads Spencer Haywood and "Pistol" Pete Maravich wore in the 1970's in New Orleans only blue.
Joel Litvin, NBA President, League and Basketball Operations, issued the following statement regarding the final seconds of the Oklahoma City Thunder at Utah Jazz game last night at EnergySolutions Arena:
"On the final play of last night’s Oklahoma City-Utah game, the officials missed a foul committed by the Jazz’s C.J. Miles on the Thunder’s Kevin Durant during a three-point shot attempt.”
Referee Tony Brothers’ non-call at the end of the Thunder’s 140-139 overtime loss to the Utah Jazz cost Oklahoma City more than one game. It cost the Thunder a shot at winning the Northwest Division title and a shot at winning the tiebreaker over Denver.
“The referee didn’t call a foul,” Thunder Head Coach Scott Brooks said. “You have to go with him. He had a better look than I had. Sometimes you get those. Sometimes you don’t. We had a good opportunity to win the game. We didn’t get a stop. That’s the bottom line.”
Nothing like having only one practice under your belt and getting the basketball in your hands as time expires...

When Dave Fox at KUTV in Salt Lake City heard about Hot Rod Hundley retiring at the end of this season, he did what the rest of us would- but he did it first. It's better than some cut-and-paste job from wire copy any day.
"He is the last original member of the Jazz, and the the only radio Broadcaster they have ever had. After 35 years, Hots is done. 42 years in all as a broadcaster!
Here is what the the man himself said in a Jazz release:
“Retiring was a tough decision for me to make,” said Hundley ((pictured, thanks nba.com)). “But after 42 seasons of broadcasting, countless miles on the road, hotel rooms and airplanes, I have decided that spending quality time with my daughters and grandchildren is what I want to do. I am grateful to Larry and Gail Miller for their support over the years and have nothing but fond memories of my time with the Jazz organization. I would also like to thank all of the fans in Salt Lake City and throughout the great state of Utah for all of your support over the years. It has truly meant the world to me.”
Pitty the man who has to follow this legend. Hots was loved by the fans and respected by peers. How else can you last so long in this business!! He has called over 3000 games! Jazz fans may not even know this, but Hots actually started as a Phoenix Suns brodacaster and also worked 2 years with the Lakers with the late Chick Hearn. Long time Laker fan Jack Nicholsen still talks to Hots before every game when the Jazz are in LA. Hots had a HUGE following! He will be missed!
