Valentino Rossi' s Ill-fated Mission To Fix The Drapes

If you follow the sport of Moto GP then you are fully aware that Valentino Rossi. Rossi is the 5 time Moto GP world champion plus is one of the highest earning sports celebrities in the world making an estimated $34 million in 2007.

Even with that impressive resume the Fiat Yamaha rider was no match for curtains and a glass table. While at home in Italy, Rossi was closing curtains in his house when he slipped and fell on a glass table which broke and Rossi ended up cutting his ring finger on his left hand and his left foot. Rossi was taken to the hospital and received stitches on each injury.

OK, you have millions of dollars in the bank, pay someone to close your curtains. Buy some blinds. By the way, how does one slip and fall closing curtains?

“It is not yet clear whether or not they will make him uncomfortable when riding this week,” a Yamaha spokeswoman said.

Rossi is expected to ride his Yamaha for the first time this season during testing in Sepang, Malaysia.

The Times.com in London put this bizarre incident the best.

It was an unusually clumsy mishap for a man who is a megastar in Italy and a regular on the Forbes rich list. It is also embarrassingly mundane given that his team-mate, Jorge Lorenzo, rode with two broken ankles last season after a dramatic crash.

The British have a way with words.

At least he didn't poke out an eye.
