Jim Mora Jr. Coaching H.S Ball...(Trying to think of something witty to add and I can't)

There is a faction here at the OSG who just wants to laugh out loud at this story. Jim Mora...Junior, former NFL Head Coach with Seattle and Atlanta is now apparently moved on to a new level of coaching. High School Football.

Yes, on one hand it is pretty funny to see where Mora has ended up. He didn't leave tons of friends when he was asked to leave Atlanta and he was kind of asked to "Get out of the way" when the Seahawks had the opportunity to hire Pete Carroll.

On the other hand, the Seahawks are still paying him...a lot of money so why not do it? It's a chance to coach on a smaller scale, a more basic level with kids who will undoubtedly listen to anything that he says.

The story from the Seattle Times is RIGHT HERE

Mora will follow Chris Beake, one of his assistants last year in Seattle and work for Bellvue High School, one of the areas powerhouses. Beake will be the Defensive Coordinator. The Head Coach, Butch Goncharoff doesn't know what role Mora will play, but apparently expects it to be significant.

Ordinarily we would add something snarky here and talk about Karma and all the things that are coming full circle for Mora. But...honestly he's not a bad guy, he just doesn't play very well with Media people. Is he an NFL Head Coach? It doesn't appear that way. He's had 2 shots and neither ended well. Can he be a good NFL Coach...sure he can.

Like we said earlier, it is an opportunity to do something different and good with kids so we really can't knock it. We wish him and Beake and the Bellevue team the best of luck, they along with being a good High School team now have a little cache' behind them.

Here is an Editorial by Dennis Patchin of KXLY-TV in Spokane, Washington done shortly after Mora was canned.
