Former Olympian Arrested For Not Revealing HIV Status Finally Speaks

((HT: WGRZ-TV Buffalo))

Darren Chiacchia's fight to return from a serious neurological injury almost two years ago exactly has been chronicled by FOSG Lee Gordon in Tallahassee, Florida.

Remember his stories from WCTV as his equestrian career was discussed as was his injury and recovery...

He was arrested in January for not revealing to his partner that he was HIV-positive. His partner, at the time, alleges that he and Chiacchia had unprotected sex. Chiacchia went to WGRZ-TV's Scott Brown to tell what little of his side of the story that he feels he could at present.

Chiacchia is facing felony charges in the state of Florida. His attorney, Baron Coleman, wouldn't comment on the record about Chiacchia's HIV status.

Here's Brown and Chiacchia on the impending case...

Brown also has another piece with Chiacchia here...

The HQ has dealt with this issue before in and around former CFL'er Trevis Smith and his guilty charge on the same offense. It wasn't pretty...

And the HQ still thinks it won't be pretty in Chiacchia's case, either...
