Jet Setting To The NFL Will Cost Jagodzinski His Job At Boston College

According to OSG sources in Boston, Jeff Jagodzinski will be relieved of his head coaching duties at Boston College. This will happen in a face to face meeting with B.C. athletic director Gene DeFilippo Wednesday Morning.

The Boston Globe is also reporting that Jagodzinski will be fired.

After meeting with the New York Jets Tuesday night, Jagodzinski called DeFilippo to set up the morning meeting. A press conference is expected late Wednesday afternoon.

When contacted by the Boston Herald, Defilippo did not say that Jagodzinski would definitely be fired but OSG sources have indicated that the relationship has all but reached the point of no return. It all came about because of Jagodzinski's dishonesty about his contact with the New York Jets plus his apparent eagerness to get back in the NFL. Not only that, Jagodzinski was not returning the bosses phone calls.

“It’s just a matter of putting two and two together,” Chris Cameron, BC’s associate director for media relations, told the Associated Press. “He was told by Gene on Saturday that if he went on the interview he’d be fired.”

Defensive coordinator Frank Spaziani is the leading candidate in house to replace Jagodzinski should the move be made. Boston College will also conduct a national search as well.
