No World for the Super Bowl

There apparently have been some published reports out that say the NFL is considering moving the Super Bowl (not sure if I just infringed on their copywrite) outside the U.S. The rumor has gotten serious enough that the BBC did a story on it...check it out here .

The "Jolly Roger" chimed in on this issue Thursday on the Dan Patrick Radio show. Check out what he had to say right here . Believe him on this, it won't happen immediately, but it has been discussed. There are tons of hurdles the league would have to overcome to make it happen.

It is no secret that the NFL has plans for Global Domination, don't start buying your tickets just yet. This is something that we here at the OSG suspect would become very political, very fast. Already, there are problems with the league taking steps to rise above the rest of the Sporting World and making people pay for any and all of their content (see the issue with Comcast).

Pretty much all of the Sports Leagues have made forays onto international turf, including the NFL. However, there is a big difference between placing a regular season game and placing the "Biggest" of them all some place else. It's been no secret that the Super Bowl is no longer something that the "Common Folk" can afford to attend, this would seal the deal. While it would undoubtedly sell-out, it would be the "Mega-rich", "Stars" and Londoners only in attendance. We just can't see that flying with the General Public.
