New Yankee Stadium - Too Comfortable & A Homer Haven

Six games have been played at the new Yankee Stadium and it's official, it is a hitters park and off the scale at that. Balls were flying out of the new Yankee palace at an alarming rate.

In those six games, 26 balls cleared the new Yankee Stadium fence and that my friends is record breaking.

Municipal Stadium - Kansas City, MO 25 HR's 1955
L.A. Memorial Coliseum - Los Angeles, CA 24 HR's 1958

I’ve not been to a game at the new Yankee Stadium yet but I went to a few games at the old one. There was a buzz and an energy level at the old park that was vibrant. I was lucky to see Dwight Gooden’s no hitter at the Stadium in 1996 and that place rocked. I even took a soaking beer shower after the final out was made.

I watched a few games from the Indians and A’s series at the new place and though I’m not in the park but watching on TV it just seems there’s no energy, no atmosphere. When you watched games at the old place the buzz translated on TV.

This is what happens when you build for comfort. Instead of a beer shower it might mist martinis.
