Auburn Gets a little Cocky....

Okay, with some deference to Brother Jon's better half, it looks like the Auburn Tigers may be in a "Spot" of hot water with the NCAA. It seems as though, the "Big Cat" weekend that took place in "The loveliest village on the Plains" may have bent, if not broken a few minor NCAA rules.

Check out the story from Charles Goldberg and AL.com here .

Problem number one. According to the wierdness that is the NCAA rulebook, you can't introduce the players to the public at a gathering when recruiting them. Apparently there is video where exactly that is happening, though it is not determined exactly who it is doing it.
Also, members of the media apparently were there and interviewed players.

Now, according to a blog written by Mark Bradley of AJC.com, there were mulitple outlets reporting on this as well, because it was posted as a scheduled event...again a no-no. Check out Bradley's fairly well researched story here .

The lucky thing for the Tigers, these are at best minor violations. More than likely if proven, the NCAA will tell them "Bad Auburn, you shouldn't do this again". However, Coach Gene Chizik and the Auburn nation needs to be careful...after all, do they really want to be compared to Tennessee?
