The college games don't stop there. The old Cotton Bowl stadium is still standing and seats over 90 thousand fans. Texas and Oklahoma will continue to play the Red River Shootout at the old place for the near future plus that facility is trying to land another bowl game (just what we need) or add some more college games. Some HBCU schools will be playing games at the old Cotton Bowl stadium this year.
It's very evident that the Dallas/Ft. Worth area is making a strong push to become the college football capital of the world. The first class facility is there, a football tradition is there and oh yes even in a bad economy money is willing to be spent.
There is also a nice return on their investment for the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.
For the schools the revenue from playing at Jerry Jones' palace might help pay the bills for the non-rev sports.
