The Score

Here's what's happened so far...

Phoenix gets Wojtek Wolski from Colorado for Peter Mueller and Kevin Porter
((The Dogs have been wanting to dump Mueller badly)). The also get Derek Morris from the Bruins for a 4th-rounder.

The Bruins get two defensemen: Dennis Seidenberg and Matthew Bartkowski from Florida for two players and a 2nd-round pick.

Washington gets Scott Walker from Carolina for a 7th-round pick. Carolina also sends Aaron Ward to Anaheim for Justin Pogge and a 4th-rounder.

The biggest trade was last night: Toronto sends Alexei Ponikarovsky to Pittsburgh for two players. One of them, Martin Skoula, was flipped to New Jersey for a 5th-rounder this morning.

1335 UPDATE: Mathieu Schneider heads to Phoenix from Vancouver and Jeff Halpern goes from Tampa to LA for the ever-popular "TBD."

1400 UPDATE:
Eric Belanger, a good special teamer, goes from Minnesota to Washington for a 2nd-rounder...

And Calgary's Curtis McElhinney goes to Anaheim for goalie Vesa Toskala...

1420 UPDATE: Columbus sends Raffi Torres to Buffalo for Nathan Paetsch and a 2nd-rounder

1500 UPDATE: The Maple Leafs have disposed of Lee Stempniak- to Phoenix for multiple picks, a 4 and 7- and the Sabres have traded Clarke MacArthur to Atlanta for a 3 and a 4.

AFTER THE DEADLINE: Washington sends Brian Pothier and Oskar Osala to Carolina for Joe Corvo. Columbus sends Freddie Modin to the LA Kings for TBD.

30 minutes after the deadline, Lubomir Visnovsky goes from Edmonton to Anaheim for Ryan Whitney... interesting...

More when they become available...

ALLEGED ANALYSIS: Obviously, the busiest squads were Washington and Phoenix. The Caps are looking for experience and got it with Corvo, Jurcina ((Even with his recently-diagnosed hernia)), Belanger, and Walker.

Phoenix are ten points clear of being out in the west and picked up Schneider, Morris, Stempniak, and Wojtek Wolski.

Toronto dumped as much as they could get away with dumping- Stempniak, Joey McDonald, Ponikarovsky, Skoula- and will be a shell of their former, below-average selves for the remaining 20 games of the season.
