Tampa Bay Rays 3rd Baseman Evan Longoria is challenging Derek Jeter of the New York Yankees as the most popular player in the American League. Longoria is the leading vote - getter for the American League All Star team but not by much. Longoria has totalled 1,560,358 votes while Jeter's numbers stand at 1,511,418 votes.
