In The Big Inning.......

The last we saw of Bobby Valentine he was wearing a cheesy fake mustache and a bad New York Mets t-shirt as a disguise after an ejection when Valentine managed the Mets.

Well Valentine is now managing in Japan and his team, the Chiba Lotte Marines made history. The Marines scored a Japanese professional baseball record of 15 runs in one inning.

The Marines batted around twice sending 20 batters to the plate in the bottom of the sixth inning when the team had 12 hits, including 11 singles. The Marines hooked the Hiroshima Carp 23-2 on Thursday.

Get this, heading into the game Chiba Lotte had the lowest batting average in the league at .250 and next to last in runs scored with 207. I would say they broke out of their slump in a big way.

As for Bobby Valentine, with his team next to last in the Japanese Pacific League he was told his contract would not be renewed.
