Former NFL Quarterback Michael Vick has been officially released from home confinement and is now free to begin resuming his life. That story today from Virginia as the former Atlanta Falcon begins in earnest, his quest to return to the NFL.
Vick, who served 2 years in Federal Prison on Dogfighting charges now will attempt to convince NFL Commisioner Roger Goodell that he realizes what he has done and is ready to move forward in life.
The story from the Virginia Pilot Online here .

We realize that there is abosolutely no excuse for what Vick did and he should have been punished for what he did. He was. We really are starting to think that he is not going to get a chance to restart his football career and in fact, may have trouble starting any career. The folks at the Humane Society and other animal care groups have gone on record saying they are going to protest him wherever he lands. The question is...why?
As horrible as dogfighting is, we are pretty sure that a stint in the pokey, loss of millions of dollars and a general change in lifestyle has been enough to convince Mr. Vick of the mistake that he made. Scaring away potential employers from him is not productive anymore, what purpose does that serve? There are people in the world who have killed other people and have not been scorned like Vick is.
What I guess we are saying is let the guy at least have a chance to find something to do professionally, there is that presumption that since he has been in prison, he has been rehabilitated. Let's just chill out, let the guy find an opportunity and we will see if that is true.
