Lidle Widow Sues Plane Manufacturer

Josh Alper, writing for WNBC-TV, says that the widow of New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle, Melanie, is suing the manufacturer of the plane Lidle was flying the day he crashed into a building- killing himself and his instructor.

She is suing Cirrus Design Corp., the manufacturer of the plane that her husband was in when he crashed and died on October 11, 2006. She's asking for more than $50 million, and the New York Post reports that his agent is claiming that Lidle would have made $45 million in salary from playing and coaching baseball.

Cory Lidle's former agent, Jordan Feagan, is running point on this one.

How they came up with the figure is a bit of a mystery, but this is one way to keep from being held liable in the lawsuits being served against the family on behalf of those who died in the building itself.

Intersting gambit...
Here's a reminder of Cory Lidle from the New York Yankees their own selves...
