Is Troy Calhoun the man in Knoxville?

Could it be? Could it be that mere hours after being rebuffed by choice number one Will Muschamp that Tennessee has already found its new coach? We don't want to be a "Rumor Mill", but we find a report that Air Force Coach Troy Calhoun has scheduled a 5:50pm meeting with his players this afternoon a bit...well...curious.

We, at least right now can't confirm that any of this means anything. The D-Coordinator at Air Force, Tim DeRuyter is also up for a job as the Defensive Coordinator at Texas A&M and that may be what the meeting is about.

However, Vols Extra and many others say that Troy Calhoun was Mike Hamilton's second choice after Kiffin when the job was open in 2008. That isn't something easy to confirm and Hamilton has been very unavailable to this point today.

Stay tuned because it smells an awful lot like Calhoun may be the guy. It would be a bit of a mold breaker, much like Kiffin was because in Knoxville there is a growing contingent who would like to see David Cutcliffe, twice the Offensive Coordinator return. We'll see...probably very soon if that will happen.

****UPDATE AT 1:53pm**** An outfit called The Sports Times Network is saying this is a done deal and there will be a Friday 4pm presser. Though we are a bit skeptical because nobody else has reported this...it would not be a surprise.
