Seton Hall Not A Fan Of New Jersey HS Bigwigs

((HT: NJ.com/Prunty))

Seton Hall head coach Bobby Gonzalez ((pictured, wondering what high school folks are thinking, thanks Saed Hindash/Newark Star-Ledger)) got to address an allegation after a win over Depaul yesterday. The NJSIAA ((their acronym for the high school athletic association)) claims, through an investigation that a Hall assistant paid St. Patrick's High School ((currently ranked top 20 in the country)) three-grand in an attempt to steer the sons of former NBA-er Chris Washburn to Seton Hall after high school graduation.

This allegation, along with apparent video of St. Pats practicing three days before a state-wide law stating the days you can start workouts, has resulted in the team being kicked out of the state post-season tournament.

Oops...

“Basically, it’s just speculation,” Gonzalez said. “It really doesn’t involve us. There was nothing from the NCAA or our university, so it’s stuff that’s being talked about by the media and I guess, the high school association.”

St. Patrick's coach Kevin Boyle has admitted he violated state rules practicing before the early date.

Bobby Gonzalez still isn't pleased... and until we can find some up-to-date video, here's some old stuff with St. Pats and St. Benedict's
