On a few levels, especially after a shocking four-game sweep by the Tampa Bay Lightning, a lot of folks thought that Caps coach Bruce Boudreau would be out of a job...
What's the quote...???
You can't replace 21 players, but you can replace one coach...
Something like that...
But, even as owner Ted Leonsis admits that "...the wheels fell off. That's for sure..." it looks like the only moves are player-based...
Here's GM George McPhee discussing Boudreau's fate, for now...
Jason Arnott, Matt Bradley, Scott Hannan, Marco Sturm, Boyd Gordon and Brooks Laich are the key unrestricted free agents for the Caps in the off-season to figure out what they're exactly doing with them...
The salary number is US$16.7-milion for all of them combined...
Arnott would have to come back at a discount, and Sturm would be the only one that won't be back...
McPhee admitted that they'd be in the free agent market...
And they're all watching from the golf course...
