Broadway Brett Now A N.Y. Jet

I swear I could hear a collective J-E-T-S, JETS, JETS, JETS when the announcement was made that Brett Favre was traded to the New York Jets. Jet fans haven’t been this excited over a quarterback acquisition since Joe Nameth came aboard in 1965. All Broadway Joe did was win a Super Bowl and change pro football forever. Broadway Brett has some work to do to equal that.

The Favre trade puts the New York Jets back on the radar screen in the Big Apple. Mike Lupica of the New York Daily News says the Jets matter again

The Jets haven’t played a game yet this season but they have already pulled off a big upset. Acquiring Brett Favre. Rich Cimini also of the New York Daily News has more right here

N.Y. Daily News Gary Myers feels the Jets made a daring but great move

Of course, this signals the end of the Chad Pennington era with the Jets
and typical of New York, there is always someone to crap on the Jets big moment. Like Jay Greenberg’s column in the New York Post

I think it’s a great move for the Jets. It will make them at least a playoff contender but more importantly, the New York Giants won’t have a monopoly in the New York media.
