The Three Words Pitchers Hate

"Doctor James Andrews"

Tom Glavine heard those words again today after it was determined further examination was necessary on the left shoulder he injured during a rehab start at the Atlanta Braves Double-A affiliate in Pearl, Mississippi Sunday afternoon.

Glavine will be examined Tuesday in Birmingham at Andrews' offices.

Glavine said he experienced discomfort in the shoulder during his only at-bat in the game. He was scheduled for a 50-60 pitch outing, but pulled himself out of the game after two innings and only 36 pitches.

He has been scratched from his scheduled start for the Braves on Saturday. Jo Jo Reyes will be recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to take his place. Glavine had surgery on his left arm to repair damage to a torn flexor tendon in August of 2008.

More when we know more...
