Favre Meets with Childress, does anyone care?

Ok, we held off reporting this, mostly due to our aversion to the name Brett Favre. That and the fact that every year for the past 5, he's threatened to retire and eventually after much hoopla (mostly the 4-letter word), he came back.

The story from a gushing Minneapolis Star-Tribune here

Now it seems as though he's doing it again. And as you would expect, it's all over the 4-Letter word (ESPN) and been going in other media...including smart-ass bloggers like us, too. This time though, it's been a little different. Aside from the folks in Minneapolis, who obviously don't realize that they are getting football's version of Sergio Garcia, and the folks in Bristol; pretty much everyone else is taking shots at Favre. And they should. Sometime in the past few years it became evident that the guy is strictly a self-centered, whiny bitch. He or at least those close to him (they tell him he's great a lot), are even admitting that he just wants to go into Lambeau Field in another jersey and beat the Packers. Or more specifically to embarrass the G.M and coaches who decided that they no longer wanted to deal with his wishy, washy ways.

Well dude, that really isn't a good reason to pretty much ruin what little is left of your credibility. Rather than rehash the same long-winded reasons as to why this is an idiotic idea and explain why we should see Favre for what he is rather than what the 4-Letter word makes him out to be, we will just link you to some stories from other people who are beginning to see the light when it comes to one...well...just read some of this.

Or this from the New Jersey Star-Ledger's Dave Hutchinson here

Or this from Yahoo Sports right here

The point we are trying to make is this. Everyone in Minnesota and in Bristol, Connecticut will be going gaga over this story. All the Favre fans will come out from under their rocks and proclaim "Brett is great, he's doing this for his fans, he loves football". No...maybe he loved football at some point in time, but now, more than ever, it is plainly obvious, he doesn't love anyone...other than himself.
