Lambert Suspended Indefinitely By New Mexico

((HT: KRQE-TV/Albuquerque))

Junior defender Elizabeth Lambert was suspended indefinitely from the New Mexico Lobo women's soccer team after her rough play in a Thursday soccer match with BYU.

Earlier, we posted the video from various sources of Lambert tripping, pulling hair, kicking, clotheslining... ((are we missing anything...???)) in the MWC semi-final loss to BYU...

The junior is prohibited from participating in practices, competition and conditioning activities.

“I am deeply and wholeheartedly regretful for my actions,” Lambert said. “My actions were uncalled for. I let my emotions get the best of me in a heated situation."

Gee, that statement didn't look like it was written by someone else...
Did it...???

Here's the discussion on KRQE-TV's morning show...

Here's analysis from Julie Foudy, thanks to ESPN...

"Liz is a quality student-athlete, but in this instance her actions clearly crossed the line of fair play and good sportsmanship," Vela said.

Clearly after the fact...

Those of us at OSG HQ would like to ask if her coach, Kit Vela, is going to get any kind of wrist-tapping or if the officials in the Mountain West are going to get any kind of tongue-lashing from ther front office...

Just axin'... but anything coming from Paul Krebs these days would have all the authority of a paper tiger...
