Kiffin Makes Attempted Robbery Players Go Away

***BREAKING NEWS****

The University of Tennessee and Coach Lane Kiffin have dismissed Freshmen Nu'Keese Richardson and Mike Edwards from the Volunteer football team this afternoon.

You'll recall that Richardson and Edwards along with another Football player, Janzen Jackson, were involved in an incident late last week where they apparently pulled a pellet gun on another student at a gas station and tried to rob him.

More on the story from WBIR-TV RIGHT HERE. ((Nu'Keese Richardson Photo//Courtesy: UT Sports.com))

Kiffin, who had engaged in a somewhat controversial recruiting war for Richardson had suspended all of the players involved after the incident. The fact that Richardson and Edwards were asked to leave the program would lead one to believe that the charges against them will stick.

The other player involved, Janzen Jackson, remains on a team suspension pending the outcome of the investigation.

This is not going to play well for Kiffin around the SEC. He's made it a point to be very aggressive when it comes to recruiting kids to come play in Knoxville.

The Vols had some...shall we say...similar issues under the previous coach, The Great Pumpkin, Philip Fulmer. The Vol nation makes no excuses for a "Win at all costs" attitude, however, they need to seriously take a long, hard look at the kids that they are bringing in to try and "Restore" there alleged "Past Glory".

That last graph was just my 2cents...

UPDATE: Here's how WATE-TV handled the reading of the Kiffin release as their 5:00 lead story- they even went to campus...
