Two High School Streaks Snapped at 89 and 74

First, we take you to Tennessee where the Maryville High Rebels had their 74-game winning streak snapped in the state finals when they lost 10-7 to the Hillsboro High Burros. Their consecutive state championship streak ends at 5.

Head Coach George Quarles, in defeat, said that "this one was on him."
Daryl Hobby and Wes Boling anchor WVLT-TV's coverage from Murfreesboro.

Not to be outdone, the night before, the third-longest streak in the country came to an end when Mississippi-South Panola lost 26-20 to Meridian High. South Panola's last loss came December 6, 2002 against Wayne County. The Tigers were ranked top ten in the country in most high school polls.

So, let me get this straight...
South Panola loses. Maryville loses. Lowndes High in Georgia loses.
No one is safe...
