Embattled University of Louisville basketball coach Rick Pitino spoke out today about what he called "Media Lies" about his alleged affair with Karen Sypher. The Louisville Police Department released audio tapes with their conversations with Sypher about the issues at hand. Those got heavy play in the Kentucky media today. Pitino...needless to say, wasn't happy about it. According to Pitino "Everything that has been printed and reported and broken into the news is a lie. All of this has been a lie. It's a total fabrication of the truth except for what I told you".

OK...there are several things here we know. One, Sypher is a bit unbalanced. Two, Pitino already admitted to having an "Encounter" with her. After that things get a bit fuzzy. There are allegations from both sides about payoffs and abortions. There is also the little, creepy issue of Sypher ending up marrying the Louisville equipment manager, a "friend" of Pitino. Sorry, but there just really isn't a very plausible, rational explanation for the whole thing. This isn't exactly something that happens on a daily basis in real life. Someone or someone(s) doing some very odd things to cover their tracks. Even if Pitino is right and everyone is "Lying", it still doesn't explain well...just about anything that is happening in this ever increasingly bizarre story.
