Little League Field Named For Nick Adenhart

((HT: WHAG-TV/Hagerstown, Maryland))

Sunday evening Halfway Little League celebrated its youth and dedicated one of its fields to a local hero that continues to serve as a role model for so many of them.

Family and friends of former Los Angeles Angels' pitcher Nick Adenhart gathered to watched the unveiling of the Nicholas James Adenhart Memorial Field.

Adenhart was killed this spring by a drunk driver, after pitching one of the best games of his short professional career.

The Adenhart family was on hand to watch Nick's name decorate the field that he grew up playing on.

"It really humbles my family, and it's an honor for us to be here this evening to see Nick's name up on the field here, because this is Nick's dream to be a professional ball player, and this is where it all-- it really started here," said James Adenhart, Nick's grandfather.

The dedication took place during the end-of-the season awards ceremony.
