Hofstra University, a relatively small school in Hempstead, Long Island (NY), a school that has turned out NFL Players such as Wayne Chrebet and Marques Colston will no longer be turning out any players...of the football variety. School President Stuart Rabinowitz says "This decision is not a budget reduction, but rather a strategic reallocation of resources". What he really means is he doesn't want to spend money on the team.

Hofstra is now the second team from the Colonial Athletic Conference to drop football in the past week, following Northeastern. The Hofstra football team had a 5-6 record on their season which also, by the way, ended last week. Supposedly the school is taking measures to make sure that all 84 players are taken care of, though the stories don't really mention the now unemployed coaching staff.Here's head coach Dave Cohen with some fairly prophetic comments from CAA Media Day.
