So they won't... so there...
Faced with the idea of going to either Mobile, Alabama or Detroit, the Fighting Irish just don't think a post-season bowl is a good idea. It may not even be a break-even idea if you get right down to it...
"If the landscape had been different, we would have been thrilled to take part, and we certainly look forward to being part of the bowl system in the years to come," AD Jack Swarbrick said.
The Irish ended this season with four straight losses to finish at .500 for just the sixth time in 121 seasons...
