Stewart Verney, in an article in the Jacksonville version of Bizjournal Today, quotes bowl Director Rick Catlett as being real tired of the folks in Greensboro dictating what he can and can't do...
“We have sat back so many times and taken it from the ACC,” Catlett said. “To have [Swofford] trying to go around a contract is unacceptable.”
The game is at 1:00 New Year's Day on CBS, and it's the last year that the ACC is affiliated with the Gator Bowl. Next year, it's the Big 10's turn...

It will mark the seventh time the Mountaineers have played in the Gator Bowl and the fourth time this decade. WVU last played in the Gator Bowl in 2007, when they defeated Georgia Tech 38-35.
Should the Mountaineers end up facing Florida State, it will be the third time to the two teams have met in Jacksonville.
WVU lost the prior meetings to the Seminoles in 1982 and 2005.
