Ok, we all kind of thought that Mr. Woods had some issues to deal with aside from his lack of driving ability (car that is). Well, after almost a week of being way to high in the News cycle and an endless onslaught of reports by the Tabloid media, he finally made a statement today on his website.
Here is the opening statement of a rather long...apology.
I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all of my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.

Let's just say it now. Thank You Tiger. You finally listened to the people that were telling you to just be up front about it. Apologize. Deal with it. Move on. People will move on. It's going to be painful to show that you made a mistake, but the only way to move ahead is to admit it. You can't go forward until you do.
Was he right for cheating on Elin? Of course not. He, unfortunately is not the first Professional Athlete to do this. He won't be the last. Does he have some 'splainin to do? Damn right he does. I'm sorry in this area he's got a lot of explaining to do. But this is now something he doesn't owe the public an explanation to, this is a private issue. This is a family issue. No, the celebrity card doesn't supercede it either.
We know that it is tough for guys on his level. Women practically throw themselves at these guys on occasion. The flip side is, they can be..."players" because they are who they are a lot of times.
Was he that unhappy in his relationship? Did he cheat because he could? We may never know the answer to those questions. But really at this point it doesn't matter as much. We now know the guy has flaws. I'm not saying that it makes what he did right...but it certainly makes him real now...doesn't it?
