First the James Madison football team snapped its 12-quarter touchdown drought. Then the Dukes ended their four-game losing streak by beating Delaware 20-8 on Saturday.
JMU hadn't scored a touchdown since the second quarter of its loss to Richmond earlier this month, until quarterback Justin Thorpe's 12-yard touchdown run early in the third quarter.
Thorpe connected with Charlie Newman for a 7-yard touchdown pass later in the quarter, then running back Jamal Sullivan added a fourth quarter score, as the Dukes knocked off the 16th-ranked Blue Hens on Homecoming.
With the win, JMU improves to 3-5 on the season. Delaware drops to 5-3.
