Haiti Soccer Practices In Texas

Unable to practice in Port-au-Prince since the January 12th earthquake that killed as many as 250,000 people, the Haitian National Soccer Team is in the United States until its May 5th friendly against Argentina.

The U.S. trip was organized by the nonprofit group San Antonio Sports, which is providing the training getaway for the devastated Haitian Football Federation.

32 bodies were pulled from the federation's three-story headquarters, including coaches and top officials. Yves Jean-Bart, president of the federation, was among only a few who escaped alive.

Players said facing Argentina next month will be as important to Haiti as a World Cup match- an event the FHF didn't qualify for...

"In Haiti, people say ask when we're going to play Argentina. People think you're going to do something good for the country," said defender Peter Germain. "If we win against Argentina, the people are finally going to be happy. We can do something positive for this country."

Here's the highlights of their first game back...

The HQ hopes they do well against the Argentines and "represent" as the kids say...
