Four NC State Players Up On Drug Charges

((HT: WTVD-TV Durham))

Four North Carolina State Wolfpack players face drug charges after police found marijuana in their off-campus apartment. An off-duty officer initially detected the presence of pot by smelling it and, then, obtained a search warrant.

Raleigh police say offensive tackle Jake Vermiglio and defensive tackles Markus Kuhn and J.R. Sweezy each were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling for the use of controlled substances.

All-Atlantic Coast Conference tight end George Bryan was charged with maintaining a dwelling for the use of controlled substances. All charges are misdemeanors.

The players were cited along with a fifth person, 22-year-old Allison Elaine Davis, who was in the apartment at the time of the search. It's not clear if she faces any charges at present.

Coach Tom O'Brien says in a statement that he is aware of the situation and "appropriate action will be taken."
