Lorena Ochoa Retires

Lorena Ochoa announced today on her website that she's retiring at the age of 28 but did not give any reason for the sudden decision- sudden, at least in our eyes, anyway...

She says she'll announce why at a news conference on Friday. Ochoa has spent the last three of her six years on the LPGA Tour at No. 1 in the world rankings.

"Personally, it's more important the things that I do outside the golf course," Ochoa said last year before a tournament she hosts in her hometown of Guadalajara. "And that's been my main focus right now."

The Mexican newspaper Reforma first reported Ochoa's retirement and said she wanted to concentrate on her family and charities. She was married in December to Andres Conesa, the chief executive of Aeromexico airline.

She currently has 27 LPGA wins- 2 of them majors... one below...

Here's the dive that always accompanies the win at the Dinah Shore...
