Alabama Fans, Jolly Ole St. Nick Wants You

Alabama Crimson Tide fans have the market cornered concerning spring football. Remember 92,000 showing up for Nick Saban's first spring game in 2007? Well the attendance numbers have dwindled since.

Now the Nic-tator is decreeing that Crimson Tide fans show up in huge numbers for the A-Day game this Saturday.

"I know our players are really looking forward to this Saturday," Saban said Thursday. "This has been a special day at the University of Alabama, at least the three years I've been here, because of the great fan support that we've had. I know our players appreciate it tremendously."

"I'm hopeful that we'll have the same kind of turnout for this game this week, Our fans have always done a fantastic job of that."

So Crimson Tide fans, forget your day bass fishing on the lake, playing 18 holes on the Robert Trent Jones golf trail, etc. You have been summoned to a meaningless intra-squad scrimmage in Tuscaloosa because Jolly Ole St. Nick wants you there.

Roll tide.
